Aim
Group Background & Aims:
West Midlands Group is a developing grower group servicing the West Midlands sub-region of the Northern Agricultural Region. WMG has three program areas, each represented by a sub-committee:
• Research and Development (R&D) committee.
• Natural Resource Management (NRM) committee.
• Women’s committee.
These programs operate to provide the following services to our members:
Local research- coordinate local agricultural research and development.
Annual programs and projects- coordinate members’ production and environmental priorities into R&D, NRM and Women’s programs and develop projects to address priorities.
Invest in research- partner with industry, government and research entities to grow research investment in the WM region.
Funding support- assist members to obtain funding to address local NRM and production issues.
Advocacy - for WM region in production and NRM issues at all levels of Government.
Training- coordinate local training and extension events for our members, including:
• In-season field walks and information sessions.
• Spring Field Day.
• Crop Updates.
• Women, Wellbeing & Wine (WWW) forum.
• Coastal rehabilitation and monitoring workshops.
Schools and community environmental extension days.
